Threadleaf privacy

Your workspace stays on your Mac.

Threadleaf is designed as a private, local workspace. It requires no account and makes no network connections during normal use.

Information Threadleaf processes

Threadleaf stores the pages, blocks, database rows, favourites and workspace preferences you create. Imported Markdown and JSON data is processed locally to build editable workspace content.

Storage and network access

Workspace data is stored locally in Threadleaf’s app container. The current release does not require an account, analytics, advertising identifiers, cloud service or developer-operated backend.

Export and backup

You choose when and where to export Markdown pages, CSV databases and complete JSON backups. Files you export are then controlled by the storage location and services you choose.

Archive and deletion

Pages moved to Threadleaf’s Archive can be restored inside the app. Removing the app or its local data through macOS may remove the workspace, so keep a current JSON backup before changing devices or clearing application data.

Sharing and tracking

Threadleaf does not sell personal information, use workspace content for advertising or track users across apps or websites.
